2010 Seventh Championship Show

On Saturday the 6th March 2010 we are holding our Annual Show at the Addlestone Community Centre in the centre of Addlestone, Surrey in close proximity to Junction 11 of the M25 giving easy access for all the UK. This has to be the event of the year for owners and admirers of British Shorthair, Manx, Selkirk Rex and Non-pedigree Cats and the Show Schedule will be available to download, view and print from 1st December 2009. If you require a hard copy of the Schedule please send a C5 size stamped addressed envelope to the Show Manager, Shelagh Heavens, SBSHCC Joint Show Manager, The Keys, Gardner Street, Herstmonceux, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 4SU.

The closing date for Show Entries is the 2nd February 2010 but please try to enter as early as you can as it helps the Show Management enormously. All entries should be sent to Shelagh Heavens, Joint Show Manager, The Keys, Gardner Street, Herstmonceux, Hailsham, East Sussex, BN27 4SU.

The Southern British Shorthair Cat Club holds an Annual Cat Show for British Shorthair, Manx and Household Pets. This show is held under GCCF Rules and on Saturday the 6th March 2010 the Club will be holding its Seventh Championship Show at our fantastic venue, The Addlestone Community Centre, Garfield Road, Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 2NJ. This is the same location as the last 2 years which received overwhelming approval from Exhibitors, Members and Visitors.

For directions to the show venue please click on the green arrow on the map to the left of this page. Once on Garfield Road there is pay & display parking next to the Addlestone Community Centre on the right hand side of the road where you can park all day for a nominal fee.

What to Expect
The hall will be filled with approaching 200 cats presented at their best competing in various classes with the ultimate goal of winning the Best In Show title. Unfortunately there is only one Best In Show title but what you are guaranteed is seeing some of the best representatives of the British Shorthair, Manx, Selkirk Rex and Non-pedigree Cats in an amazing plethora of different colours and patterns.

As well as the Cats on show there will be a number of cat related stalls and the club table where you can ask numerous questions regarding the breeds on show and in most cases we will be able to answer your queries or at least direct you to an expert who can help.

Entrance For The General Public
The Show Hall will be open to members of the General Public from 12.30pm - this is after the first round of judging has taken place - helping to preserve the anonymity of the exhibits and thus ensuring that the results are not biased. An admission charge is payable of Ł2 for adults and Ł1 for concessions (Children under 16 and Adults over 65) - admission into the event closes at 4.15pm. Show Catalogues will be available to purchase at the entrance and their will be a plethora of stalls selling various cat related items as well as refreshments and of course a raffle to help raise funds for the Club.

The key to a successful show in our Club's philosophy is to ensure that everyone has a fantastic day out. You may make some new friends, see some fabulous cats and learn something new, all in what we hope will be a relaxed and friendly environment.
