This is the Southern British Shorthair Cat Club Re-home List. This list contains cats and very occasionally kittens from members of the club, rescue organisations and the general public.
Please click
here to see the current list of Selkirk Rex Cats looking for new
homes.
The club has a policy that for a cat or kitten to be listed within this section the maximum price chargeable by the current owner is £150. This is to help towards the costs incurred by the current owners. Please be aware that this is
significantly lower than the price normally paid for a kitten.
There are several things that you need to be sure of before considering a re-home cat and it is advisable to ask these before travelling a long distance to view a cat:
-
Be sure to establish why the cat needs a new home.
-
Has the cat had kittens and when was the last litter born?
-
Does the cat go outside?
-
Can the cat use a cat flap?
-
Does the cat use a litter tray?
-
Does the cat soil in the house?
-
Does the cat get on with other people/ children/ other cats/ dogs?
-
Does the cat have any health problems and what treatment is necessary?
-
Does the cat appear to be well looked after?
Also be prepared to answer questions from the current owner who will be looking to find the best possible home for their cat - not all situations will suit all cats and it is best to be honest regarding your situation and to voice
any concerns that you may have.
Following this advice will minimise any potential difficulties and help lead to a happy relationship between you and your new cat.
The information is published here in good faith on behalf of the current owners and it does not constitute a recommendation nor give a guarantee of availability or quality.
